Watering Made Easy
Self-watering pots are simply a great invention! The concept is easy: The
planter holds a reservoir of water and includes a mechanism — usually
a wick of some sort — for the plant to take up the water as it needs
it. (This is not the same as letting plants sit in a saucer of water, which
quickly leads to root rot.) If you aren't around to water plants frequently
or if you're prone to forgetting, choose a self-watering planter such as
the EarthBox. It needs filling only every few days or even once a week,
depending on the type and size of the plants and the weather.
